IMG_0001Jacquotte Delahaye was a French Pirate- or Buccaneer in the 1660s. Buccaneers were pirates that attacked Spanish ships during the 17th century. Her father was French and her mother was Haitian. Unfortunately, her mother died giving birth to Jacquotte’s younger brother who suffered from brain damage. Not a whole lot of information on this woman- but her father also died tragically and left Jacquotte with no money and  no way to care for her brother. She took to piracy in the Caribbean in an effort to provide for her brother.

Eventually the law came looking so she faked her own death and lived as a man. After many years in disguise, she returned to piracy and got the name “Back from the Dead Red.”

She is described as being devastatingly beautiful with fire red hair.
